{"id":35326,"date":"2016-11-11T10:00:52","date_gmt":"2016-11-11T08:00:52","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=35326"},"modified":"2016-11-11T10:00:52","modified_gmt":"2016-11-11T08:00:52","slug":"singer-doreen-mwaliwa-drops-new-album","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/11\/11\/singer-doreen-mwaliwa-drops-new-album\/","title":{"rendered":"Singer Doreen Mwaliwa drops new album"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mulanje-based gospel musician Doreen Mwaliwa has released her second album titled <em>Akanapanda Yehova. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>The album is a follow up to her debut album <em>Chiyambi <\/em>which she released in 2011.<\/p>\n<p>The 12-track album was recorded at Sound wave Studio.<\/p>\n<p>Mwaliwa said her second album was continuing the message that she started in his first album which talks about the greatness of God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are living in the last days and it is important that we stick to God. The title track of the album takes its message from Psalms 124,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Mwaliwa\u2019s music journey started way back when she was performing with a choir but in 2000 she decided to go solo.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI started composing my own songs in 2010 but then I released my debut album in 2011. And now it has taken five years to release my second album,\u201d said the singer.<\/p>\n<p>Mwaliwa believes she is making strides in her gospel music career and that people have started embracing her songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSome of the songs are currently enjoying airplay in some of the local radio stations. At the moment I am still working on when to launch the album but I do hold my own live shows especially in Mulanje,\u201d Mwaliwa said.<\/p>\n<p>The album has songs such as <em>Wodala Munthuyo <\/em>and <em>Kuli Mtsinje Wochiza <\/em>which has the title similar to Thoko Suya\u2019s song but Mwaliwa said they were two different songs.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI listened to Thoko Suya\u2019s song and despite having the same title, the style is different,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>She said music to her is a ministry.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Mulanje-based gospel musician Doreen Mwaliwa has released her second album titled Akanapanda Yehova.
