{"id":35173,"date":"2016-11-09T11:39:25","date_gmt":"2016-11-09T09:39:25","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=35173"},"modified":"2016-11-09T11:59:11","modified_gmt":"2016-11-09T09:59:11","slug":"villagers-kill-people-who-robbed-police","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/11\/09\/villagers-kill-people-who-robbed-police\/","title":{"rendered":"Villagers kill people who robbed police"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Villagers in Mulanje have killed two robbers after they snatched guns from police officers at a roadblock.<\/p>\n<p>The robbers, who had put masks on, attacked the police officers at a roadblock at Ng\u2019omba near Mimosa in Mulanje and shot one of them in the leg and then disappeared into the tea fields.<\/p>\n<p>Villagers around the area, however, followed them and managed to apprehend and kill the robbers in the process.<\/p>\n<p>Confirming the development, National Police spokesperson James Kadadzera thanked the villagers for their vigilance and swift action which has saved the situation.<\/p>\n<p>The bodies for the two robbers are being kept at Mulanje District Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, the Commissioner for the Police in the Southern Region Demester Chigwenembe is conducting a press briefing on the issue.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Villagers in Mulanje have killed two robbers after they snatched guns from police officers at a roadblock.
