{"id":35050,"date":"2016-11-07T11:21:31","date_gmt":"2016-11-07T09:21:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=35050"},"modified":"2016-11-07T11:21:32","modified_gmt":"2016-11-07T09:21:32","slug":"cassava-investors-forum-wednesday","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/11\/07\/cassava-investors-forum-wednesday\/","title":{"rendered":"Cassava investors forum Wednesday"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Cassava: Adding Value for Africa (C:ava) will on Wednesday host a daylong meeting for all stakeholders in the cassava value chain industry in Mzuzu.<\/p>\n<p>C:ava Malawi Manager, Vito Sandifolo, said the meeting is aimed at banging heads on economic opportunities the crop avails to Malawi.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe meeting is aimed at exposing opportunities available through investment in cassava value chains as well as sharing investor packs for investment in various value chains.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cStakeholders will also share potential opportunities for financial resources available for investment by SMEs, identify potential investors in cassava production, seed multiplication and processing to support, and to create a networking platform for all the stakeholders that participate in the cassava value chain,\u201d he said in an interview.<\/p>\n<p>Sandifolo said the forum was for all current and potential investors in the cassava value chain.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt has been organised by C:ava project in partnership with GIZ under the theme \u2018Exploring the Economic opportunities: Through Investment in Cassava Value Chains\u2019. The one day meeting will start from 8:30am to afternoon hours,\u201d Sandifolo said.<\/p>\n<p>The forum, according to Sandifolo, comes at a time when cassava\u2019s importance is rapidly changing from just being food security crop to a cash crop.<\/p>\n<p>Cassava is also creating employment opportunities and presenting vast potential for both exports and import substitution in Malawi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The Cassava: Adding Value for Africa (C:ava) will on Wednesday host a daylong meeting for all stakeholders in the cassava value chain industry in Mzuzu.
