MDF Marine\u2019s Head Coach, Frank Chilemba, has said their priority is to top the Premier Division of Masters Security-sponsored Southern Region Football Association.<\/p>\n
Speaking at Polytechnic Ground after his team humbled Polytechnic FC by 3-0, Chilemba said they were in an unstoppable form.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe want to be number one, nothing short of that. We feel that we have what it takes to be there and we won\u2019t relent until we are there,\u201d Chilemba said.<\/p>\n
The team\u2019s Assistant Coach, Richard Chanunda, said he was happy with the way the team is playing.<\/p>\n
Polytechnic\u2019s Acting Team Manager, Emmanuel Chisaka, attributed the loss to his squad\u2019s depletion.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have a serious shortage of players as our main players are still on holiday, so we just have to do with the available players. In our next game, the situation won\u2019t be any better,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
During the game played on a scorching afternoon, the first-half ended 0-0.<\/p>\n
The second-half was a different story as the world belonged to Marine with the students seemingly clueless to the manoeuvres of the Marines.<\/p>\n
No wonder, just after 10 minutes, Vanacio Malunga opened the scoring to give MDF Marine a 1-0 lead.<\/p>\n
Two minutes later, Frasier Chimpini doubled the lead with a powerful shot that pushed Polytechnic\u2019s goalkeeper together with the ball into the net.<\/p>\n
Polytechnic literally did not know which book to acquire the skills from as on the 90th minute they gave away a needless free-kick near the 18-yard box, and Yotamu Maunde converted it in a \u2018bend it like Beckham\u2019 way to put the icing on the cake.<\/p>\n
With the win, MDF Marine moved to second position on the log table, displacing Chikwawa United and two points behind Mitra Icons, who beat Chikwawa United 2-1 on Saturday.<\/p>\n
