Seasoned golfer, Thakor Mahindra, emerged the winner of Airtel Ball-pool held at Lilongwe Golf Club (LGC) on Wednesday.<\/p>\n
Mahindra outclassed 40 golfers, who turned up for the curtain-raiser of the three-day Airtel Malawi Open Championship teeing off today at the same venue.<\/p>\n
In his victory speech, Mahindra said it was a wonderful experience to qualify for the Champions of Champions\u2019 Division.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt feels great to be part of the best golf tournament. I am looking forward to winning the main event this weekend,\u201d Mahindra said.<\/p>\n
In the ladies\u2019 category, Sandra Komakech emerged the winner and also qualified for the Champions of Champions\u2019 Division.<\/p>\n
Mahindria, Godambe and Kalenzi have joined Frank Jomo, Fortune Lee, Godambe, Francis Kambalame, Bridget Sinthambi, Mike Kalulu, Charles Mvula, Robert Komakech, Felicia Lee and Adack Sailesi, who qualified for the main event.<\/p>\n
LGC Captain, Brian Coombes, described the four Ball-Pool events as a success.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe successfully held the events for the past one month. We are now ready to host the big event this weekend. We are optimistic that it will be one of the best ever tournament, \u201che said.<\/p>\n
