China is urging developing countries to use machinery for economic growth.<\/p>\n
China is drawing from its success story to drill participants drawn from countries in Africa, Europe, Asia and Latin America on how machinery has accelerated growth for the world\u2019s second largest economy.<\/p>\n
The workshop has been sponsored by the Ministry of Commerce of the People\u2019s Republic of China and co-organised by the China Chamber of Commerce for import and export of machinery and electronic products and the Academy for International Business Officials.<\/p>\n
Speaking at the opening ceremony, Academy for International Business Officials Vice President, Liu Mingzhe, said machinery development is a major contributor to economic growth.<\/p>\n
Liu said China has made great economic achievements because of its policies on machinery.<\/p>\n
\u201cIndustrialisation is aimed at improving people\u2019s livelihood and increasing agricultural productivity in most nations.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt is for this reason that as the biggest developing country, we have a responsibility to other developing countries to help them learn from us and implement some of our projects to speed up growth in their countries,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Liu said the workshop should offer a platform for exchange of ideas and experiences.<\/p>\n
On his part, the Chamber of Commerce Senior Commissioner, Zang Peisheng, said the reform programme China introduced some decades ago, has helped the country to develop its economy at a faster pace.<\/p>\n
Zang said apart from the reforms, China also opened up to other markets for trade.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe need to stick to our reforms and opening up to more markets and build socialism for continued growth of trade, production and investment to grow our economies.<\/p>\n
\u201cStrengthening corporation between developing countries with emphasis on dialogue is also key to economic growth,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
