Management of Kasasa Golf Club in Nkhotakota District has embarked on a rehabilitation project of the golf course.<\/p>\n
According to the club\u2019s Captain, Robert Ngala, they have secured K10 million for the construction of a 3.5-kilometre electric wire fence around the course, among others.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe course now hosts most golf tournaments, including golfers from the Northern Region, especially when Mzuzu Golf Club is not conducive to host the games,\u201d Ngala said.<\/p>\n
\u201cThis is making our course lose its shape. However, we have been unable to implement some projects, such as installing water hazards, because we were afraid that school-going children would drown. Our partners, Unitrans Company, have given us the nod about sponsoring the project.\u201d<\/p>\n
The captain said they had earmarked a company, which is erecting a wire fence at Nkhotakota Game Reserve, for the renovation of the golf course.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe submitted our proposal to the company through Illovo which owns Kasasa\u2019s premise and we got the quotation. Apart from the fence, we want to introduce some game on the course,\u201d Ngala explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs you know, golf is the game of challenges so we want the animals to be distracting the golfers and see how they can overcome such challenges and still emerge winners.<\/p>\n
\u201cIn that way, we will produce great golfers because every time we participate in international competitions and fail to do better, we get excuses like \u2018I was disrupted by something while playing\u2019. So we want them to get used to that and train themselves to concentrate and focus,\u201d Ngala added.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the club\u2019s management has s t a r ted constructing rest room at the club. Companies such as Airtel and Total Malawi host annual golf tournaments at the club.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
