N\u2019zalera star Lulu has said he is hopeful that the collaboration between him and Tanzania\u2019s award winning musician Diamond will materialise.<\/p>\n
He revealed yesterday that he was supposed to work with Diamond at the Sand Music Festival held at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima last weekend on a song which he already wrote.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am thankful to Lucius Banda, who is the director of Impakt Events for the connection with Diamond. We were supposed to finalise the song at the festival but due to other challenges it did not work until Diamond left,\u201d Lulu said.<\/p>\n
He said he already worked on the song and that all what remained was for Diamond to put in his voice.<\/p>\n
\u201cI wrote the song but now that it didn\u2019t work out to finalise it at the festival, it now gives us time to probably work on another. I will look up to Lucius and team because he is the one who acted as a manager on this deal but I am very much hopeful it will work,\u201d Lulu real name Lawrence Khwisa said.<\/p>\n
The artist warmed up the stage for Diamond.<\/p>\n
He was however; booed by the fans after they were frustrated by the prolonged sound check and the lengthy wait for Diamond.<\/p>\n
During a press conference on Sunday Lucius also confirmed of the move between Lulu and Diamond when asked whether there were to be any collaborations.<\/p>\n
Diamond, who put up an energetic performance, also indicated during the press conference that he was aware of the move.<\/p>\n
The Tanzanian artist, who has soared and is currently travelling places, said it was important that artists work together.<\/p>\n
\u201cLet me also share with you that I have a record label and currently I am working with five artists. In fact I heard one of the songs of my artists being performed here,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Diamond creator of hits such as Nana <\/em>said music was not all about him alone but working together and show what Africa was all about.<\/p>\n \u201cIt\u2019s not about me but it\u2019s about showing the world what Africa has. There is no way I can do things on my own and this why I put up a record label to give upcoming artists the platform and the idea is to try to take African music to the world,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n Despite the various challenges experienced at the Sand Music Festival which was held from October 28 through to October 30, Diamond said he loved the festival and the support he received from the people.<\/p>\n \u201cDespite the fact that it rained and spoiled the whole stage and sound system but you guys decided to wait for me until morning… till they fixed the stage.
