{"id":34443,"date":"2016-10-27T07:51:46","date_gmt":"2016-10-27T05:51:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=34443"},"modified":"2016-10-27T07:51:47","modified_gmt":"2016-10-27T05:51:47","slug":"malawi-under-20-in-tough-group","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/27\/malawi-under-20-in-tough-group\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawi Under-20 in tough group"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi Under-20 National Football Team were yesterday handed a tough draw for the Cosafa Youth Championship to be held in South Africa from December 7 to 16.<\/p>\n<p>The Junior Flames, who are yet to regroup and their coaches will be named over the weekend, were thrown into Group B of death comprising neighbours Zambia and Zimbabwe.<\/p>\n<p>Defending champions, South Africa, take on neighbours Lesotho, Swaziland and Botswana in Group A with the other Group C comprising Angola, Mauritius, Namibia and Seychelles. Group D consists of Mozambique, Comoros and guests Rwanda, who replaced Madagascar.<\/p>\n<p>Only the top team from each pool will advance to the semifinals. The teams will play each other in a round-robin format.<\/p>\n<p>One twist is that the top teams in Groups B and D after the second round of matches will play a third game as a crossover fixture between those two pools, to ensure that most competing sides get to play three times.<\/p>\n<p>The top team in Group B will play the second team in Group D and vice-versa.
