Tempers flared after Azam Tigers denied Nyasa Big Bullets a chance to climb to the TNM Super League summit following a barren draw at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Bullets, who remain second with 41 points, have now dropped four points in the last two games having also drawn 3-3 against Red Lions at the same venue.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, leaders Silver Strikers, who have 42 points, also dropped points following a goalless draw with Lilongwe City rivals, Civo United, at Silver Stadium.<\/p>\n
Third-placed Mafco joined Bullets on 41 points after seeing off Karonga United 3-1 yesterday courtesy of leading scorer, Richard Mbulu\u2019s hat-trick. The Portugal-bound Mbulu took his tally to 16 goals.<\/p>\n
At Kamuzu Stadium, some Bullets fans invaded the pitch and attacked the Andy Kuseli-led officiating panel after the final whistle, forcing the police to fire teargas canisters.<\/p>\n
Bullets fans were unhappy with Kuseli\u2019s officiation, after he, among others, denied the hosts what they felt was a goal in the dying minutes of the game.<\/p>\n
From a neutral perspective, Kuseli was spot-on with his decisions, which included ruling for offside Tigers substitute\u2019s Precious Phiri\u2019s effort.<\/p>\n
Tigers, who have 31 points from 22 games while placed ninth on the log table, were, save for their blunt front-line, simply better and well-drilled physically, tactically and technically.<\/p>\n
Tigers dominated the game in all respects against Bullets, whose coach Lloyd Nkhwazi, had made five changes to the starting line-up.<\/p>\n
Muhammad Sulumba, Maneno Nyoni, Henry Kabichi, Dalitso Sailesi, Ernest Kakhobwe paved the way for Collen Nkhulambe, Tilekeleni Joseph, McFarlen Mgwira, Dave Ng\u2019ambi and Chimwemwe Kumkwawa, respectively, in the starting XI. However, the reshuffle did not improve Bullets\u2019 play.<\/p>\n
Tigers\u2019 were the first on the ball and closed all spaces through Peter Cholopi and Patrick Gunde whereas Yamikani Chester pulled the attacking strings. Bullets were on the back foot for the better part of the game.<\/p>\n
Elsewhere, Red Lions\u2019 impressive form continued after they defeated bottom-placed Max Bullets 2-0 at MDC Stadium in Blantyre to rise to 10th place with 30 points from 23 games. Max Bullets anchor the table with eight points from 21 games.<\/p>\n
In Lilongwe, Civo moved up to position 12 on the log table with 20 points from 23 games following the draw against Silver.<\/p>\n
Nonetheless, Civo\u2019s coach, Charles Manda, was contented with the point.<\/p>\n
