{"id":34084,"date":"2016-10-21T09:50:55","date_gmt":"2016-10-21T07:50:55","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=34084"},"modified":"2016-10-21T09:50:56","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T07:50:56","slug":"malawi-flames-one-step-down","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/21\/malawi-flames-one-step-down\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawi Flames one step down"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, have dropped by a single step from position 99 to 100 on the latest Fifa\/Coca-Cola World Ranking.<\/p>\n<p>The world football governing body released the ranking for the 205-member table through its website on Thursday.<\/p>\n<p>The Flames are ranked 27th out of 54 teams in Africa while placed fourth in Southern Africa behind Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa.<\/p>\n<p>On the world table, Mozambique, Zambia and South Africa are ranked on position 95, 94 and 62, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Cote d\u2019Ivoire lead Africa\u2019s chart while lying 31st in the world.<\/p>\n<p>Senegal, Algeria, Tunisia, Ghana, Egypt, Democratic Republic of Congo, Mali, Cameroon and Nigeria complete the continent\u2019s top 10, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>Argentina are still the world\u2019s best ranked team followed by reigning Fifa World Cup champions, Germany, on second place.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cFollowing another packed round of 2018 Fifa World Cup Russia qualifiers, there has been a reshuffle on the Fifa\/Coca-Cola World Ranking podium as Germany and Brazil have moved into second and third respectively,\u201d reads <em>www. fifa.com<\/em><\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Malawi National Football Team, the Flames, have dropped by a single step from position 99 to 100 on the latest Fifa\/Coca-Cola World Ranking.
