{"id":34068,"date":"2016-10-21T09:27:08","date_gmt":"2016-10-21T07:27:08","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=34068"},"modified":"2016-10-21T09:27:09","modified_gmt":"2016-10-21T07:27:09","slug":"soul-raiders-rebrands","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/21\/soul-raiders-rebrands\/","title":{"rendered":"Soul Raiders rebrands"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Reggae group Soul Raiders has rebranded and this time around it is looking at nothing but taking its acts to all the corners of the world.<\/p>\n<p>The group will this Sunday perform at Grittas Camp in Lilongwe\u2014an entertainment hub which is slowly moving to the top having hosted a couple of live shows recently.<\/p>\n<p>Musician Neil Nayar, who is spearheading Grittahs Camp, said the centre is open every day, with live music from Thursdays to Sundays.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is just so much to offer the much needed entertainment. We just want to call upon people to patronise this home of live music in Lilongwe. Last weekend it was all fire with Paul Banda and now we are having Soul Raiders,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Soul Raiders\u2019 member Prince Martin said recently that the group has rebranded now that they have a manager in the name of JJ Munthali.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have been criticised by our fans that we have not been that serious with our music. Some have even gone on to say that we are a band which only performs in Lilongwe but that\u2019s not the case, we love music and we love what we do and so with JJ as our manager he is handling all the things to do with music,\u201d Martin said.<\/p>\n<p>The group last weekend organised a Mothers\u2019 Day reggae show which Martin said was an indication that they are a group for everyone.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are a group not for a cross-section of people but we are a group for everyone. People should just watch the space because we have a lot in stock for them. We are taking our music to the world and as I said we have rebranded ourselves with the coming in of JJ Munthali,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>The soft-spoken Martin said JJ <em>Munthali <\/em>has been in music for a long time and has the experience to drive a band.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cHe is really pushing us and we are happy with his vibe as a manager and we see many good things coming up otherwise we are braced for serious reggae music and more albums,\u201d Martin said.<\/p>\n<p>The group has performed in different platforms sharing the stage with international acts including Jamaica\u2019s Morgan Heritage and will also perform at this year\u2019s Sand Music Festival taking place at Sunbird Livingstonia in Salima from October 28 to October 30.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the group\u2019s albums are <em>Reggae Revolution <\/em>and <em>Angels <\/em>which has the hit <em>Patse<\/em>.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Reggae group Soul Raiders has rebranded and this time around it is looking at nothing but taking its acts to all the corners of the world.
