Football Association of Malawi (Fam) has intervened in the ongoing transfer wrangle between Premier Bet Wizards and Silver Strikers over exciting midfielder, Thuso Paipi.<\/p>\n
The association has since ordered Silver to stop featuring the winger with immediate effect or risk sanctions.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe, hereby, advise Super League of Malawi (Sulom), through your good office, to cancel Paipi\u2019s registration with Silver as he reverts, with immediate effect, to his parent club [Wizards] where he is contracted until June 30, 2018,\u201dreads part of the letter signed by Fam General Secretary, Suzgo Nyirenda.<\/p>\n
\u201cThe loan agreement was for six months up until September, 30, 2016. By continuous use of the player, Silver risk sanctions.\u201d<\/p>\n
Wizards\u2019 Technical Director, Peter Mponda, demanded K3.5million from the Central Bankers to make Paipi\u2019s transfer permanent. Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers were also interested in Paipi.<\/p>\n
Mponda, who recently wrote to Sulom over Paipi\u2019s disputed transfer, said yesterday he was disappointed with Silver for failing to honour the promise.<\/p>\n
\u201cThey got cheated that Thuso\u2019s contract is ending at the end of the season. They rushed into offering him a contract, but Thuso has a contract with Wizards until 2018,\u201d Mponda said.<\/p>\n
Silver Acting-General Secretary, Thabo Nyirenda, insisted that they reached an agreement with Wizards.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are surprised by Fam\u2019s decision,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Paipi was Wednesday reluctant to comment on the issue but admitted that he was still contracted to Wizards.<\/p>\n
\u201cI do not know how many years are left on my contract with them (Wizards),\u201d said the player, who faces an unpleasant situation of leaving the potential Super League champions, Silver, for the bottom-placed, Wizards.<\/p>\n
Sulom Vice-General Secretary, Thokozani Chazema, said on Wednesday they will ensure that both teams abide by Fam\u2019s directive.<\/p>\n
\u201cAs Sulom, we urge teams to fulfill their transfer obligations pertaining to loan or transfer agreements,\u201d Chazema said.<\/p>\n
