{"id":34012,"date":"2016-10-20T11:11:33","date_gmt":"2016-10-20T09:11:33","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=34012"},"modified":"2016-10-20T11:11:33","modified_gmt":"2016-10-20T09:11:33","slug":"pitch-shortage-hits-big-bullets-be-forward-wanderers","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/20\/pitch-shortage-hits-big-bullets-be-forward-wanderers\/","title":{"rendered":"Pitch shortage hits Big Bullets, Be Forward Wanderers"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>As the shortage of proper football pitches continues in the country, the situation has worsened with giants, Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers, training on the same pitch.<\/p>\n<p>It was a rare spectacle last week as the arch rivals converged on MDC Stadium in Chilomoni Township, Blantyre for their respective training sessions that were supposed to run concurrently.<\/p>\n<p>Last Thursday, as the first training session for Wanderers was starting at 8 am, Bullets players, whose training sessions was scheduled for 10 am, could be seen trickling in.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets started their training session at 10 am just after Wanderers got out.<\/p>\n<p>A week ago, lower league teams, Namiwawa and Griffin Young Stars, also had an altercation with Side B Socials of Chilomoni and Club 40-40 from Ndirande over the use of the same venue. A fight broke out and both teams were fined.<\/p>\n<p>Recently, teams were stopped from training at Kamuzu Stadium in an effort to preserve the worn-out artificial turf.<\/p>\n<p>The newly-constructed state-of-the art, Bingu National Stadium, in Lilongwe is yet to be opened, a situation that has aggravated the scarcity of pitches in the country.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>As the shortage of proper football pitches continues in the country, the situation has worsened with giants, Nyasa Big Bullets and Be Forward Wanderers, training on the same pitch.
