TNM Super League title contenders Mafco FC say they are going to lodge a complaint to the Super League of Malawi (Sulom) over what they described as \u201cvery poor\u201d standards of refereeing in Mzuzu.<\/p>\n
The Salima-based soldiers surrendered a 1-0 lead to draw 2-2 against Mzuni at Mzuzu Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Richard Mbulu scored his 14th goal of the campaign at the stroke of halftime for the visitors to take the lead, before Lughindiko Mushane\u2019s second half brace left Mafco battling to level the scores.<\/p>\n
Following the result, Mafco Team Manager Chawezi Ngwira was full of bitterness and said his side will lodge a complaint to the league governing body on the matter.<\/p>\n
Speaking in reference to an incident where Mzuni\u2019s goalkeeper Happy Msowoya pulled Joseph Donsa\u2019s leg in the penalty box before the ball went out for Mafco\u2019s corner kick, Ngwira said his team would have won the match with good refereeing.<\/p>\n
The visitors grabbed an equaliser from the resulting set piece with Gift Soko volleying the ball into the net 12 minutes before the final whistle.<\/p>\n
\u201cMy team is good, we played well and we were supposed to win. The score line should have been 3-2 in our favour but because of the penalty that was not given, we have lost two points. We will lodge a complaint because the officiation very poor, very unprofessional.\u201d<\/p>\n
But Mzuni assistant coach McNebert Kazuwa said he saw nothing wrong with officiation on the day.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that referees are professionals and we respect their decisions in a match. We did not see anything wrong with the officiation,\u201d said Kazuwa.<\/p>\n
