A day after being sacked as Be Forward Wanderers\u2019 assistant coach, Elia Kananji, has declared himself ready and available to work for any team in the country, including former employers, Nyasa Big Bullets.<\/p>\n
Kananji left Bullets in 2015 after the team hired Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan as a way of fulfilling Club Licensing System requirements of Football Association of Malawi (Fam), stipulating that head coaches must have a minimum qualification of a Caf B Licence.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am a coach and I offer my services to any team which seeks them. But meanwhile, I need to rest then I will make a decision on my next step. I am at ease,\u201d Kananji said.<\/p>\n
The Caf C Licence holder said he was not bitter with his sacking, alongside his former boss, Eddingtone Ng\u2019onamo, as he saw it coming. Both coaches won the Carlsberg Cup three weeks ago.<\/p>\n
The two have been fired due to poor performance of the team in the TNM Super League, with the latest being a 0-1 loss to Bullets. Wanderers are on ninth place on the log table with 29 points from 20 games having dropped 31 points.<\/p>\n
According to Kananji, so far no team has approached him for his services, but he is hopeful of getting offers.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am a good coach and I know that some team will be able to appreciate my skill and seek them,\u201d he added.<\/p>\n
Bullets\u2019 Acting-General Secretary, Kelvin Moyo, said the team was not interested in hiring Kananji as they have enough coaches.<\/p>\n
\u201cMoreover, we have just employed them, so it is impossible to recruit another coach at the moment,\u201d Moyo said.<\/p>\n
In a separate interview, Ng\u2019onamo said he had too many things on his lap to keep him busy, adding that coaching was just a past-time as he is on a full-time employment at Karibu Academy in Blantyre.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"
