Towera Vinkhumbo- Nyirenda of Kukoma Diamonds and Thunder Queens\u2019 Joanna Kachilika will assist Mwafulirwa- Mhango as vice-captains, Queens\u2019 Coach, Griffin Saenda senior, confirmed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have the confidence in the three. They have played netball for some time. They are senior players and are experienced. They will be assisting each other with Grace taking the lead,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Mhango said it was not the first time that she had skippered the Queens.<\/p>\n
\u201cOur mission is to move a step up. We just have to be united if we are to break into top-four [of the world ranking],\u201d she said.<\/p>\n
This week, Saenda is expected to name a final 10-member squad out of 21 players in camp ahead of the trip to Australia for the Fast5 Netball World Series.<\/p>\n
Currently, Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) needs K20 million to participate in the competition to be played at Hisense Arena in Melbourne, Australia.<\/p>\n
The event will see the world\u2019s top six netballing nations competing in netball\u2019s fast and exciting modified version.<\/p>\n
The host country and I n ternat ional Netball Federation provides accommodation and other travel expenses to participating teams.<\/p>\n
