{"id":33474,"date":"2016-10-11T11:36:19","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T09:36:19","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=33474"},"modified":"2016-10-11T11:36:20","modified_gmt":"2016-10-11T09:36:20","slug":"salim-chazama-wins","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/11\/salim-chazama-wins\/","title":{"rendered":"Salim Chazama wins"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>There was drama on Sunday afternoon during an international non-title bout at the BAT Ground in Blantyre as Malawi\u2019s Salim Chazama was controversially declared the winner after knocking out Tanzania\u2019s Mwinyi Mzengela.<\/p>\n<p>After referee, Mbachichi Nyirenda, had stopped the fight in the second round, Chazama threw a punch that caught Mzengela by surprise. In no time, he was lying flat on the canvas.<\/p>\n<p>Mzengela could be heard shouting \u201cNo! No!\u201d, expressing his dissatisfaction with the role which the referee played.<\/p>\n<p>The referee asked Mlengela to continue with the fight but he refused. Chazama was eventually declared the winner and he was delighted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI won the fight and I don\u2019t want to waste time on his complaints as I would like to concentrate on other important things that will advance my boxing career,\u201d Chazama said.<\/p>\n<p>Nyirenda said there was nothing wrong with what happened as according to the rules, boxers are supposed to protect themselves at all times.<\/p>\n<p>In supporting bouts, Nyuma Matonga, Lameck Chikoti and Byson Gwayani won against Dunduzile Kamkwamba, Hadson Mkoka and Juma Jack, respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>There was drama on Sunday afternoon during an international non-title bout at the BAT Ground in Blantyre as Malawi\u2019s Salim Chazama was controversially declared the winner after knocking out Tanzania\u2019s Mwinyi Mzengela.
