{"id":33468,"date":"2016-10-11T11:18:05","date_gmt":"2016-10-11T09:18:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=33468"},"modified":"2016-10-11T11:18:06","modified_gmt":"2016-10-11T09:18:06","slug":"mukandipepesele-star-passes-test-in-chrichi-show","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/11\/mukandipepesele-star-passes-test-in-chrichi-show\/","title":{"rendered":"\u2018Mukandipepesele\u2019 star Passes test in Chrichi show"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Youthful artist DNA real name Daniel Kaliwo on Sunday showed potential when he performed at Chrichi Gardens in Chitawira, Blantyre.<\/p>\n<p>The show marked the launch of DNA\u2019s latest album <em>Mizizi <\/em>which includes the hit <em>Mukandipepesele<\/em>.<\/p>\n<p>The artist jumped on stage late soon after the not-so-huge audience had enjoyed the performance of Piksy of the <em>Angozo <\/em>fame with his Langwani Movement Band.<\/p>\n<p>With many of the urban artists restricting themselves to playing using CDs with DJs supporting them on the decks, it was a different story for DNA, who was backed by Langwani Movement.<\/p>\n<p>Throughout his set, the artist was composed and performed a couple of songs from his <em>Mizizi <\/em>album which kept the audience on the dance floor.<\/p>\n<p>However, it was the hit <em>Mukandipepesele <\/em>which dominated the proceedings and had the audience singing along.<\/p>\n<p>DNA\u2019s 12-track album was recorded at Matrix Records and apart from <em>Mukandipepesele <\/em>which put the artist in the limelight; other songs are <em>Napepe, Changa Si Icho, Kamodzi, Bwenzi La Liuma, Anafera Mmbuyo <\/em>and <em>Promise to Marry. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy to have successfully launched the album. I am here to stay and there a lot that people should expect from me. I am in music not by chance but it\u2019s an inborn talent and I am utilising this God given talent,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>DNA said from Blantyre, he will be launching the album in Lilongwe and Mzuzu and that with resources permitting he is also targeting a countrywide tour.<\/p>\n<p>Several other artists among them Saint and Blaze also spiced up the launch which saw musician Blak Jak impressing with his act.<\/p>\n<p>Just as he has done in his outings, Blak Jak real name Fatsani Kalonda gave people a surprise package when he invited different artists to the stage to briefly perform with them and they included Delano and Sir Patricks.<\/p>\n<p>He then went on to rekindle memories when he invited some of the members of Nyasa Guruz to perform together.<\/p>\n<p>The audience enjoyed the set as they dished out songs such as <em>Tumpale. <\/em><\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am pushing the members to revive Nyasa Guruz and I am happy that people are responding positively and all I can say is that I will continue doing this,\u201d Blak Jak said.<\/p>\n<p>He also hailed DNA for the show adding that he was going the right direction and that he is talented.<\/p>\n<p>The show went on until late with Dan Lu and his Rockers Band closing the chapter.<\/p>\n<p>Dan Lu dished out several songs including <em>Sweet Banana <\/em>which he collaborated with Nigerian star Kcee.<\/p>\n<p>The artist also took advantage of the platform to announce to the audience of his <em>Sweet Banana <\/em>song launch at Lilongwe Golf Club on November 6.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Youthful artist DNA real name Daniel Kaliwo on Sunday showed potential when he performed at Chrichi Gardens in Chitawira, Blantyre.
