Azam Tigers\u2019 striker Bright Munthali\u2019s late goal denied Silver Strikers maximum points and a chance to climb to the TNM Super League summit following a 1-1 draw at Kamuzu Stadium on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Striker Tizgobere Kumwenda had put the visitors ahead in the 68th minute, getting to the end of a poorly cleared ball to fire past Tigers\u2019 goalkeeper, William Thole, at the near-empty Blantyre arena.<\/p>\n
However, the lead vanished three minutes later as Munthali, who scored in a 1-0 first round win over Silver in Lilongwe, bundled in the leveler after a carefully taken free-kick that caused a scramble on the visitors\u2019 goal-mouth.<\/p>\n
The draw took Tigers\u2019 tally to 30 points from 21 games as they remained eighth whereas Silver moved to second with 37 points, at par on points with leaders, Mafco.<\/p>\n
Silver pushed defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, down to third position. Bullets have 36 points from 20 games following a 1-0 win over rivals, Be Forward Wanderers, on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Blue Eagles remain fourth with 36 points from 19 games after Sunday\u2019s 1-1 draw against bottom-placed Max Bullets at Nankhaka.<\/p>\n

Max Bullets\u2019 Sparrow Msowoya scored to cancel out Charles Ngosi\u2019s early goal for Eagles. Max Bullets remain bottom with eight points and coach Aubrey Nankhuni warned against ruling the rookies out of the league.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe will fight to the wire. Do not count us out,\u201d Nankhuni said.<\/p>\n
At Mzuzu Stadium, Premier Bet Wizards came from behind to hold fellow strugglers, Karonga United, 1-1 also yesterday. Karonga have 18 points from 20 games, whereas Wizards occupy 13th position with 19 points from 20 games.<\/p>\n
