{"id":33266,"date":"2016-10-07T11:01:05","date_gmt":"2016-10-07T09:01:05","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=33266"},"modified":"2016-10-07T11:01:06","modified_gmt":"2016-10-07T09:01:06","slug":"3-horse-race-in-blantyre-fmb-under-20-league","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/07\/3-horse-race-in-blantyre-fmb-under-20-league\/","title":{"rendered":"3 horse race in Blantyre FMB-Under 20 League"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Three teams are gunning for the FMB Under-20 Youth Football League title in Blantyre as the league enters week 24.<\/p>\n<p>Ntopwa Super Boyz are topping the table with 55 points from 25 games while Griffin Young Stars lie second with 54 points from 24 games.<\/p>\n<p>Maggie Chombo Academy are third with 54 points from 25 games.<\/p>\n<p>The league\u2019s Fixtures Secretary, Joseph Semu, said the race for the championship is turning out to be tricky and stiff.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cOf course, it is appearing to be a three-horse race but if you look at the table closely you will notice that the race is wide open to teams in the top six,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Semu said the contest for the championship will be concluded within the next six weeks.<\/p>\n<p>Maggie Chombo Academy founder, Maggie Chombo Sadiki, said she was confident that her team will defend the title despite being third on the table.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe championship is far from being decided. We will fight tooth and nail to retain it. At the start of the second round, we slumped a bit but we have recovered,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Griffin Young Stars Coach, Griffin Saenda Jnr, said it would be difficult for the team to win the title because most of the players were new.<\/p>\n<p>Saenda, whose team boasts of this year\u2019s Under 17 Cosafa Cup top goalscorer Peter Banda, said his target was to finish among top four teams.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe race is hot and it will be a miracle if we win the league title.
