{"id":33155,"date":"2016-10-05T11:50:36","date_gmt":"2016-10-05T09:50:36","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=33155"},"modified":"2016-10-05T11:50:38","modified_gmt":"2016-10-05T09:50:38","slug":"patrick-mabedi-resigns","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/10\/05\/patrick-mabedi-resigns\/","title":{"rendered":"Patrick Mabedi resigns"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Former Malawi National Football Team\u2019s assistant coach, Patrick Mabedi, has resigned as Head Coach of Cape Town All Stars FC, barely three weeks at the helm of the South Africa First Division side.<\/p>\n<p>The former Flames\u2019 captain Tuesday confirmed that he threw in the towel\u2014after two games in charge\u2014due to a fall-out with Assistant Coach, Dylan Deane. <em>The Daily Times <\/em>was unable to talk to Deane.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI don\u2019t want to work with the assistant I found here. Players don\u2019t like him and he gives wrong information. I am proud that I never lost a game. I played two derbies [against FC Cape Town and Milano United] and drew both. We outplayed both teams and missed many chances, including a penalty in the last game [against Milano],\u201d he explained.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI found players in bad condition\u2014technically and tactically, but I made them better. I was on the right track, but I personally cannot work with the assistant that I do not trust. The chairman likes him so I have to resign.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>The former Bata Bullets and Kaizer Chiefs\u2019 captain last worked for a month as a deputy to the then Flames\u2019 caretaker coach, Nsanzurwimo Ramadhan.<\/p>\n<p>With Football Association of Malawi in the hunt for a head coach, Mabedi has not ruled out a return to the Flames.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere are a few teams interested in my services in the Premier Soccer League and the National First Division, but I am always available for my country. I love my country,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mabedi, most recently, worked as an assistant to Muhsin Ertugral at Mpumalanga Black Aces in the South Africa Premiership. However, Aces sold their Premiership status and Ertugral picked a job at Orlando Pirates.<\/p>\n<p>Mabedi claimed that he turned down an offer to work with Ertugral at Pirates as his loyalty is to rivals, Chiefs.<\/p>\n<p>When hiring him last month, Stars\u2019 General Manager, Faeez Dulvie, praised the Malawian\u2019s pedigree.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cPatrick is an ambitious young coach who is highly qualified, having done his Uefa A and B Licences in Germany.
