Malawi\u2019s netball star, Mwawi Kumwenda, has said her signing for Melbourne Vixens in Australia, is a milestone in her career.<\/p>\n
Kumwenda told The Daily Times <\/em>on Monday that she was ready for the new challenge in Australia, having left New Zealand\u2019s Mainland Tactix.<\/p>\n \u201cThis is a dream come true as I have always wanted to play for an Australian team because competition there is great as compared to New Zealand. So, I believe this is an opportunity to showcase my talent and continue scaling greater heights,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n The former Escom Sisters\u2019 shooter joined the New Zealand side in 2014 before receiving an offer from Vixens last month.<\/p>\n \u201cVixens are the champions of the Australia Netball League. At Tactix, we finished the league on position eight and it sounds good to be associated with the champions,\u201d she added.<\/p>\n Mwawi expects to start playing for the new team in November when the league starts.<\/p>\n The towering player is in the country in anticipation of Malawi Queens\u2019 preparations for the Fast5 World Netball Series to be played at Hisense Arena, Melbourne in Australia from October 29 to 30.<\/p>\n Mwawi, however, refused to comment on what advice she can give to the Queens\u2019 Coach, Griffin Saenda, to ensure that they build a strong team.<\/p>\n \u201cWe are not in camp yet.
