Flames\u2019 forward, Gabadihno Mhango, received his first ever silverware in South Africa as his Bidvest Wits thrashed Mamelodi Sundowns 3-0 to lift the MTN 8 Cup at Mbombela Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n
Mhango kept his place in Wits\u2019 starting line-up when he appeared in his debut cup final since moving to South Africa from Nyasa Big Bullets in 2013.<\/p>\n
However, Mhango was substituted after 69 minutes for Simfiso Myeni.<\/p>\n
\u201cEverybody is excited and I salute my teammates and the technical panel for working hard to win this cup. It was not easy but we really deserved it,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
During the final, former Orlando Pirates\u2019 midfielder, Daine Klate grabbed a brace with the other goal coming from Eleazar Rodgers.<\/p>\n
Mhango has made a bright start to his career at Wits having won three-man-of-the-match awards and scoring once this season.<\/p>\n
He moved to Wits from Bloemfontein Celtic, but spent six months on loan at Golden Arrows last season.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, according to Wits\u2019 policy, their players will share R4 million (about K168 million) of the R8 million (about K366 million) MTN prize money.<\/p>\n
