{"id":3291,"date":"2015-06-01T09:14:06","date_gmt":"2015-06-01T09:14:06","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=3291"},"modified":"2015-06-01T09:14:06","modified_gmt":"2015-06-01T09:14:06","slug":"azam-tigers-overpower-lions","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/06\/01\/azam-tigers-overpower-lions\/","title":{"rendered":"Azam Tigers overpower Lions"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Azam Tigers\u2019 quest for top four finished in the TNM Super League continued with a 2-1 victory over hosts Red Lions at Zomba Community Centre on Saturday.<\/p>\n<p>Bright Munthali put Tiger s ahead in the seventh minute when he took advantage of a defensive mix-up to beat Lions goalkeeper Jacob Kaunda at the near post.<\/p>\n<p>Lions responded five minutes later when Benesi Kaisi rose high to head home a Steve Ziba free kick that had eluded goalkeeper Nenani Juwaya.<\/p>\n<p>The rest of the half saw both teams pressing forward to get another goal.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers scored the decisive goal a minute after resumption through Mike Chitani.<\/p>\n<p>Lions pressed forward in search for an equaliser but Tigers still dominated possession and they held on for an important victory.<\/p>\n<p>Tigers coach, Gerald Phiri, said his charges followed instructions.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThey could have done better with a better playing surface.
