{"id":32591,"date":"2016-09-27T10:38:31","date_gmt":"2016-09-27T08:38:31","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=32591"},"modified":"2016-09-27T10:38:32","modified_gmt":"2016-09-27T08:38:32","slug":"petroleum-importers-limited-focuses-csr-initiatives-on-health","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/09\/27\/petroleum-importers-limited-focuses-csr-initiatives-on-health\/","title":{"rendered":"Petroleum Importers Limited focuses CSR initiatives on health"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Petroleum Importers Limited (PIL) says it has identified health as one of the sectors to benefit from its corporate social responsibility initiatives this year.<\/p>\n<p>PIL General Manager, Enwel Kadango, said the consortium of fuel companies remains committed to support government efforts to improve healthcare delivery.<\/p>\n<p>Kadango was speaking when PIL donated various items to Mulanje District Hospital. The support was worth K5 million and included mattresses, an oxygen concentrator, gumboots, suction machines, among several others.<\/p>\n<p>Kadango said over the past months, PIL has been assisting some institutions in the health and education sectors.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe believe the donation will help improve the welfare of patients as well as ease the working environment for staff members,\u201d Kadango said.<\/p>\n<p>He then appealed to other private sector players to hold hands with government in improving service delivery in public institutions.<\/p>\n<p>Mulanje District Commissioner, Fred Movete, thanked PIL for the donation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe facility also serves people from surrounding districts as well as from Mozambique and this has resulted in increased pressure on the limited resources that the hospital has,\u201d said Movete.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Petroleum Importers Limited (PIL) says it has identified health as one of the sectors to benefit from its corporate social responsibility initiatives this year.
