Central Health Lilongwe and District Netball League (LDNL) will likely watch an exciting final today as giants, Blue Eagles Sisters and Civonets, lock horns in a decider at Kamuzu Institute for Sports.<\/p>\n
The two sides are tied on 42 points after playing 21 games, but Eagles lead on superior goal-difference.<\/p>\n
Mafco Soldiers are third with 38 points also from 21 games.<\/p>\n
The winner of the final will be declared the inaugural champion.<\/p>\n
LDNL Chairperson, Charity Malanga, said the final will start with a trophy parade in the morning from Lilongwe Community Ground to Kawale Township.<\/p>\n
“It has been an exciting journey. Through the league, we have seen more talented players from the rural areas. We are grateful to Central Health for sponsoring the league,” Malanga said.<\/p>\n
Women’s and Children Clinic, Central Health Medical Director, Victor Madhlopa, said the objective of the league has been achieved.<\/p>\n
“We are happy that we have managed to reach out to many girls and women. We are looking at a long-term partnership with the committee to ensure that we reach out to many people in the country,” Madhlopa said.<\/p>\n
Central Health sponsors the league to tune of K2.5 million.<\/p>\n
The sponsorship aims at developing netball while also promoting awareness about cervical cancer screening and vaccine for girls.<\/p>\n
During the games, Central Health disseminates messages of cervical cancer awareness and prevention through the league\u2019s ambassador, Takondwa Lwazi.<\/p>\n
