{"id":3234,"date":"2015-05-29T08:24:00","date_gmt":"2015-05-29T08:24:00","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=3234"},"modified":"2015-05-29T08:24:00","modified_gmt":"2015-05-29T08:24:00","slug":"airtel-money-expects-exciting-netball-final","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/05\/29\/airtel-money-expects-exciting-netball-final\/","title":{"rendered":"Airtel Money expects exciting netball final"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Airtel Money national netball trophy sponsor expects the national finals of to be brutal but fair.<\/p>\n<p>The national finals for the 12-team competition were expected to throw-off Thursday and will conclude tomorrow.<\/p>\n<p>Airtel Money marketing manager, Masiye Mazaza, said they were excited with events that have unfolded in the competition this year.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs the second season of the most prestigious netball competition, Airtel Money is excited to be sponsors of such a competition,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Mazaza also said Airtel Money was impressed with how Netball Association of Malawi (Nam) had run this year\u2019s competition.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe have managed to run up to the national finals within a short span of time to pave way for the other netball engagements like those of the national team, the Malawi Queens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe expect brutal but fair battle in Mzuzu and that more talent will be identified. Mzuzu City will be on fire throughout the national finals of the Airtel Money trophy. Let the best team emerge K7 million champions,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Nam general secretary, Carol Bapu, said they were looking forward to an exciting conclusion of the second edition.<\/p>\n<p>She said Nam was confident that umpires would handle the games professionally to impress all stakeholders.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cSo far, the umpires haven\u2019t received any serious query regarding umpires ever since the competition started at district level. We are confident that the umpires would continue being fair by handling the games according to the book of rules,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Complex Tigresses are the defending champions having beaten Diamonds during the inaugural finals. Some of the teams taking part in the finals are Blue Eagles Sisters, Civonets, Thunder Queens, Prison Sisters, Alliance Capital Stars, Mimosa Queens, Lioness, Mafco and Young Sisters.<\/p>\n<p>Meanwhile, holders Complex Tigresses, Mafco and Young Sisters are in group A while last year\u2019s runners-up Kukoma Diamonds, Thunder Queens and Alliance Capital Stars make up pool of death in group B. Blue Eagles Sisters alongside Lameck Queens and Prison Sisters are in group C.
