Be Forward Wanderers\u2019 Nigerian striker, Amos Bello, has stopped training with the club due to unknown reasons.<\/p>\n
The towering forward has been missing Nomads\u2019 training for almost a month, Wanderers Team Manager, Steve Madeira and Assistant Coach,<\/p>\n
Elijah Kananji, confirmed Tuesday.<\/p>\n
Madeira said Bello was last seen during the Carlsberg Cup semifinal match against Mangochi Police, which ended 1-0 in favour of the Lali Lubani outfit at Kamuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
\u201cHe only told me that he was going to Lilongwe to collect some items which his brother sent from Nigeria. He was supposed to report back for training on the Tuesday after the Mangochi game, but he never showed up,\u201d Madeira explained.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe cannot get him through his mobile phone. We might have to report a missing person case [to police] because in my books, we have rendered him as a person Absent Without Leave (Awol).\u201d<\/p>\n
Kananji also confirmed that the striker cannot be traced.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are just hearing rumours that he is in Mozambique whereas some are saying that he went to South Africa. We don\u2019t know where exactly he is now,\u201d Kananji said.<\/p>\n
Nomads General Secretary, Mike Butao, who facilitated the player\u2019s deal from Nigeria, was not available yesterday.<\/p>\n
Nomads Vice-Treasurer, Chulu Mkangama, confirmed that Bello did not say bye to Wanderers, but insisted the players is still contracted to the club.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are hearing a lot of speculations, but we cannot react based on mere hearsay. He is still our player,\u201d Mkangama said.<\/p>\n
Bello joined Nomads on a two-year deal from Shiba Academy of Nigeria. The lanky forward, who scored once in the TNM Super League this season, recently threatened to sue the club over signing-on fees.<\/p>\n
He made a bright start to his career at Wanderers before his career nose-dived. He was mostly used as a substitute.<\/p>\n
Apart from Bello, Wanderers signed Japanese forward, Genki Nakamura.<\/p>\n
The club is also processing the transfers of Nigerian striker, Ebuka Fabian Ozochukwu, and midfielder, Adekola Ayinla, on a six-month loan.<\/p>\n
