Seasoned coach, Leo Mpulula, is spending most of his time watching FMB Under-20 League games in Blantyre while waiting for the right offer.<\/p>\n
Mpulula said the developmental league was exciting and more competitive, hence his desire to scout for potential targets.<\/p>\n
\u201cI like spending my time watching the FMB junior league because that is where the talent is so raw and unique. In my view, the junior league is competitive unlike the Premier Division where you find a lot of recycled players or Super League rejects,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The former Azam Tigers and Epac FC coach said once he gets the right job offer, he will sign several players from the league whose skills usually go unnoticed.<\/p>\n
\u201cI will share you one secret; every team which I coach for a particular period is able to sell a lot of promising players because I mainly poach from the developmental league. I poach talented players and nurture them to realise their full potential,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
The former Blantyre United coach said he had shortlisted players that were ripe for Super League games.<\/p>\n
\u201cI know some players from this league can perform much better than most senior players. These kids love to play football and are not motivated by money,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, the league\u2019s defending champions, Maggie Chombo Academy, have vowed to defend the league despite their sluggish start to the season.<\/p>\n
