First Discount House (FDH) on Thursday presented a K5 million cheque to the Parents of Disabled Children Association of Malawi (Podcam) to help the grouping initiate a revolving fund.<\/p>\n
FDH Managing Director, Mike Chiwalo, said his firm appreciates the various challenges parents face in raising children with disabilities.<\/p>\n
Chiwalo said key among the challenges is a shortage of financial resources to provide for the basic needs of the children.<\/p>\n
He said the assistance will help the parents to engage in income generating activities to enable them raise the much-needed resources for their day to day needs.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe are confident that this donation will help improve the lives of children with disabilities in Malawi,\u201d said Chiwalo.<\/p>\n
He observed that Podcam will be responsible for the administration of the revolving fund, adding that his firm will only demand periodic reports.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe believe that if this fund could be properly taken care of, it could grow and benefit more parents across the country,\u201d said Chiwalo.<\/p>\n
Podcam Chairperson, Godfrey Chafuwa, hailed FDH for the donation.<\/p>\n
