{"id":31480,"date":"2016-09-08T11:44:51","date_gmt":"2016-09-08T09:44:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=31480"},"modified":"2016-09-08T11:44:52","modified_gmt":"2016-09-08T09:44:52","slug":"big-bullets-break-premier-bet-wizards-hearts","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/09\/08\/big-bullets-break-premier-bet-wizards-hearts\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Bullets break Premier Bet Wizards\u2019 hearts"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Failure to deal with long balls once again proved to be Premier Bet Wizards\u2019 biggest undoing on Wednesday.<\/p>\n<p>Wizards suffered their 10th TNM Super League defeat in 16 games after going down 2-0 to defending champions, Nyasa Big Bullets, in a second round opening match at Kamuzu Stadium yesterday.<\/p>\n<p>After surviving in a goalless first half, Wizards succumbed to long balls as McFarlen Ngwira dribbled past two defenders, then U-turned to tuck the ball past the outstretched palms of goalkeeper, Bester Phiri, in the 67th minute.<\/p>\n<p>The former Wanderers keeper, Phiri, had a debut to forget for Wizards. One soon became two as Lekeleni Joseph, formerly of the Peter Mponda-led side, added Bullets\u2019 second goal four minute later when guiding into the net a ball whipped from the left wing.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets also handed debuts to striker Collen Nkhulambe. Wizards\u2019 only worthwhile attempt was from Pat Phiri\u2019s long-range effort which Bullets\u2019 goalkeeper, Ernest Kakhobwe, tipped over the bar.<\/p>\n<p>The defeat saw Bullets climb to third place with 28 points from 16 games on the log table whereas Wizards remain 14th on 12 points. Mponda was not pleased with the start to the second round.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe played well in the first half, but in the second half we did not play well.
