Mzuzu-based boxer, Laston Kaira, has cried foul over his loss to Malani Kayuni during an eight round non-title bout at Obligado Leisure Centre in Mzuzu on Sunday.<\/p>\n
Kaira dominated early rounds of the bout, but Kayuni came back strongly with accurate punches from the fourth round.<\/p>\n
The pugilists exchanged heavy blows in the remaining four rounds, leaving Kayuni with a cut close to the left eye.<\/p>\n
Eventually, four judges declared that Kayuni was the winner on points.<\/p>\n
\u201cYou have all seen how I beat him and I am surprised how the judges came up with the results. Something must be wrong. If this is how they are going to be judging the bouts here, then we are killing boxing in the [Northern] region,\u201d Kaira said.<\/p>\n
Apart from challenging for a rematch, Kaira said he wants to meet Malawi Defence Force boxer, Wilson Masamba.<\/p>\n
\u201cI am done with the Masamba juniors, now I want the senior Masamba, Wilson,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Kayuni downplayed Kaira\u2019s remarks, saying the cut was a result of a headbutt by his opponent.<\/p>\n
\u201cIf he thinks the judges did him injustice, then why doesn\u2019t he bring his parents to be judges? Kaira and other boxers should know that I am back for serious business,\u201d Kayuni challenged.<\/p>\n
