Civo United interim coach, Charles Manda, is convinced that his charges will do better in the second round but bemoaned lack of finishing quality upfront in a goalless draw against Epac FC at Nankhaka Stadium on Saturday.<\/p>\n
In post-match brief, Manda said that his side played some decent football but only failed to convert chances into goals.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe controlled the game but we missed several scoring opportunities. We have noted our weak areas and we will definitely improve in the forthcoming games,\u201d Manda said.<\/p>\n
Attacker Nelson Kangunje was the main culprit when he missed several scoring opportunities.<\/p>\n
Epac Coach, Audloy Makonyola, was satisfied with the result.<\/p>\n
\u201cIt was a tough match but a draw is a fair result than a loss,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
In the just-ended transfer window, Civo did not bolster their squad due to lack of funds whereas Epac strengthened the squad with Josophat Kwalira and Amadu Makawa.<\/p>\n
Following the draw, Civo are still 11th on the log table with 17 points from 16 games.<\/p>\n
Manda was confirmed as Civo coach for the rest of the season following the sacking of Milias Jegwe Pofera on Friday.<\/p>\n
In the first round of the TNM Super League, Civo struggled having registered only four wins, four draws and seven losses.<\/p>\n
In the official second-round opening match, Blue Eagles and Mzuni FC played out to a goalless draw at Mzuzu Stadium.<\/p>\n
The draw means Eagles have moved four points clear at the summit of the TNM Super League with 33 points from 16 games followed by Silver Strikers on 29points from 15 games.<\/p>\n
