Mighty Wanderers Cameroonian striker Lionel Asu has doffed a off for his striking partner Muhammad Sulumba for his impressive performance at the Cosafa Cup in South Africa.<\/p>\n
Sulumba, playing his debut competitive game for the Flames, scored with a bullet header to equalise after Malawi had messed things up through a Lucky Malata 10th minute own goal.<\/p>\n
The goal came from a corner kick which Sulumba won after his long-range volley was parried by Mozambican goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
Commenting on his teammate\u2019s performance, Asu said Sulumba has the potential to clinch a deal in South Africa.<\/p>\n
\u201cSulumba is a promising player for the Malawi squad,\u201d Asu said. \u201cI was very happy when he scored yesterday (Monday).\u201d<\/p>\n
Asu said he would not be surprised if a South African club ends up signing the former Blantyre United player.<\/p>\n
\u201cBut if Sulumba moves out from Malawi, he is going to be a very dangerous striker.<\/p>\n
He has the capability,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
Despite his impressive performance in open play, Sulumba messed up the night when he had his penalty saved by Mozambican goalkeeper.<\/p>\n
This would eventually, seal Malawi\u2019s fate as Mozambaque grabbed the winner.<\/p>\n
\u201cUnfortunately, he lost concentration at the end,\u201d Asu said.<\/p>\n
On Malawi\u2019s performance, Asu said the Flames had all the chances of progressing to the semi-final, but were let down by lack of coordination and communication.<\/p>\n
\u201cI have noted that Malawian football depends too much on strikers,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n
\u201cMalawi play-makers and wingers don\u2019t make themselves available in the box to help strikers.\u201d<\/p>\n
