Tnm Super League leaders Blue Eagles are interested in signing Mangochi Police blossoming goalkeeper, George Chauya, after impressive performance in the ongoing Carlsberg Cup.<\/p>\n
Chauya displayed a solid performance in the semi-final clash against Be Forward Wanderers but he was taken off the field at half time as he was reportedly attacked by unknown supporters.<\/p>\n
Eagles technical panel led by assistant coach Wilson Chidati and General Manager, Gabriel Chirwa, travelled to Blantyre to monitor the budding star.<\/p>\n
In an interview on Saturday, Chidati confirmed that the goalkeeper is one of the targets in the transfer window.<\/p>\n
\u201cWe have been watching him for the past two months and he is one of the best up -and-coming goalkeepers. He has proved that he can be a top goalkeeper in the near future,\u201d Chidati said.<\/p>\n
If he joins Eagles, Chauya will compete for a starting role with experienced goalkeepers John Soko and Chakonda Majanga.<\/p>\n
Eagles are also interested in signing two players to bolster the squad before the start of second round.<\/p>\n
Meanwhile, utility midfielder, Philip Masiye, has resumed training with the police outfit.<\/p>\n
Masiye has been out of action for close to six months due to personal reasons.<\/p>\n
Chidati said Masiye would be a good addition for the club in second round as they aim to win their first-ever TNM Super League title this season.<\/p>\n
For the past three seasons, Eagles have been performing well in the first round but lose steam in the second half of the season.<\/p>\n
