So microfinance institutions should open up to women to access loans,\u201d she said.<\/p>\n<p>Mwambungu said microfinance companies in the country should adopt the culture of supporting women by charging them reasonable loan interest to boost their businesses.<\/p>\n<p>She also lamented that some bosses, who work for finance institutions, take advantage of women poverty to exploit them sexually.<\/p>\n<p>Micca Mhango, a member of Chiwanja Women Organization, concurred with Mwambungu\u2019s concern and said this frustrates their chances of getting loans.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A non-governmental organisation in Mzuzu has asked microfinance institutions in the country to empower women economically.
