Proceeds from the TNM-sponsored race will go towards charity.<\/p>\n<p>In view of this, Sports and Culture Minister, Grace Chiumia, has hailed the mobile phone company for contributing to the development of triathlon. TNM has injected K11 million in the race.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cMy ministry really appreciates the role that TNM is rendering towards the development of triathlon which is regarded as a minor sport in the country. I urge other companies to emulate TNM\u2019s gesture,\u201d Chiumia said in a statement.<\/p>\n<p>Event Manager, Jam Kaunda, of Mizu Foundation said all was set for the event which has attracted participants from sporting disciplines such as a 2km Thumbi Island swim, cycling, volleyball, football, swimming and rowing.<\/p>\n<p>TNM Public Relations and Sponsorship Manager, Limbani Nsapato, said by sponsoring the triathlon, they hope to help raise the profile of minor sports and promote tourism in Malawi.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>The second edition of Cape Maclear Triathlon gets underway Rugby today in Mangochi District with athletes set to test their versatility in the multi-discipline sports event.
