{"id":30561,"date":"2016-08-24T12:17:22","date_gmt":"2016-08-24T10:17:22","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=30561"},"modified":"2016-08-24T12:29:44","modified_gmt":"2016-08-24T10:29:44","slug":"new-maintenance-free-battery-on-the-market","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/08\/24\/new-maintenance-free-battery-on-the-market\/","title":{"rendered":"New maintenance free battery on the market"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A new car battery designed to work without refills and regular maintenance has been introduced in Malawi by a Kenyan company, Associated Battery Manufacturers.<\/p>\n<p>The battery is initially being offered for free by the local distributors of Associated Manufacturers, Viscosity.<\/p>\n<p>Malawi is expected to receive over 1,500 units of the product every month, according to Associated Manufacturers, Export Executive, Edward Chivisa.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are introducing maintenance free batteries which have many advantages over the normal charge batteries. It is a new product and we want our customers to understand how it works and how they should handle it,\u201d said Chivisa on Friday during an orientation for customers and users of Chloride Exide batteries in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>Based in Kenya, ABM, is one of the biggest manufacturers of batteries which has a product ion of 100,000 units per month for markets in East and Central Africa.<\/p>\n<p>Chivisa described Malawi market as big with 20 percent growth rate of sales per year.
