History tends to repeat itself. Loss of concentration is a cancer that will never heal in the Flames. It happened in the past, and Monday it happened again.<\/p>\n
Mozambique came from behind to cancel Malawi\u2019s 2-1 lead in added time and eventually won 5-4 to boot out the Flames in Cosafa Cup quarterfinal through post match penalties.<\/p>\n
Malawi thought they had carried the day as the game went into added time with Malawi leading 2-1 from Muhammad Sulumba header and Limbikani Mzava penalty.<\/p>\n
But as fate would have it, Mvaza also ended up having the last touch on the ball just a minute later as Mozambique equalised in added time to force the game to be decided through post-match penalties.<\/p>\n
Lucky Malata mis-cleared a ball into his net but the Flames came back from recess a changed side and pressed for an equalizer which they got in 50th minute when Sulumba rose to nod in a Gerard Phiri Jnr corner kick.<\/p>\n
Malawi then went on to take a lead in 90th minute through a Mzava penalty following a foul on John Banda.<\/p>\n
But loss of concentration gifted the Mozambicans a goal after long cross from the right flank was helped into the net by Mzava.<\/p>\n
In post match penalties Malawi started with some false hopes as they converted the first two penalties through Frank Banda and Mzava.<\/p>\n
But Tizgobere Kumwenda and Yamikani Fodya missed before Fischer Kondowe converted Malawi\u2019s fifth penalty and after Mozambique missed theirs, it was now time for sudden death.<\/p>\n
Captain Malata converted his penalty but Sulumba missed giving Mozambique an opportunity to wrap the game.<\/p>\n
