{"id":30242,"date":"2016-08-19T12:06:20","date_gmt":"2016-08-19T10:06:20","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=30242"},"modified":"2016-08-19T12:08:23","modified_gmt":"2016-08-19T10:08:23","slug":"carlsberg-gives-urban-artists-another-stage","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/08\/19\/carlsberg-gives-urban-artists-another-stage\/","title":{"rendered":"Carlsberg gives urban artists another stage"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Last Sunday, urban artists had an opportunity to share the stage and show off their skills at Chrich Gardens in Blantyre during an event organised by Unique Arts Entertainment.<\/p>\n<p>And this Sunday, urban artists have been given yet another platform by Carlsberg Malawi through what they dub the Carlsberg Urban Music Legacy to show their swag.<\/p>\n<p>For those, who made mistakes during last weekend\u2019s outing, it is time to put things right.<\/p>\n<p>Close to 20 artists are expected to perform during the show which will start in the afternoon until late.<\/p>\n<p>Some of the artists billed to perform are Fredokiss, Blaze, Barry One, Blak Jak, Dan Lufani, Mafo, Young Kay, Nepman, Nesness, Saint, Piksy, Theo Thomson, Sangie Bucci, Daredevils, Hazel Mak, Martse and Homegrown African.<\/p>\n<p>Carlsberg Senior Brands Manager (Alcoholic) Twikale Chirwa said the urban music show is designed to develop the genre as well as support local artists in the country.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThere is a reciprocal relationship between our brands and the support that urban artists give to Carlsberg and as such our support for the artist in providing a platform for them to show their talents,\u201d Chirwa said.<\/p>\n<p>He further stressed that the event is for consumers aged 18 and above and urged attending to enjoy responsibly.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe always emphasize on enjoying responsibly. Through this platform we see a fit between Carlsberg and urban music because of the social nature of our products therefore we will continue to support local urban artists,\u201d Chirwa said.<\/p>\n<p>Barry One, who is set to launch his latest album <em>Maso Atseguka <\/em>at Robins Park in Blantyre on September 10, said as urban artists they need such platforms to interact with the audience.<\/p>\n<p>Blak Jak said he is happy that Carlsberg Malawi has now devoted its resources to such a show.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis is the first time that Carlsberg Malawi has aligned itself to urban music. This is a win-win for them because their brands are embraced by urban music lovers.
