{"id":30106,"date":"2016-08-17T13:45:07","date_gmt":"2016-08-17T11:45:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=30106"},"modified":"2016-08-17T13:56:45","modified_gmt":"2016-08-17T11:56:45","slug":"airtel-still-mum-on-netball-sponsorship","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/08\/17\/airtel-still-mum-on-netball-sponsorship\/","title":{"rendered":"Airtel still mum on netball sponsorship"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Airtel Malawi says it is too early for the company to talk about the future of its three-year K360 million netball sponsorship which is into its final year.<\/p>\n<p>The company\u2019s Corporate Communications and CSR Manager, Norah Chavula, was responding on Monday to <em>The Daily Times<\/em>\u2019 questionnaire on the future of the sponsorship for Airtel Money Netball Trophy and Malawi netball Queens.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cCommenting on the way forward at the moment would be pre-emptive as the contract is still running its course,\u201d Chavula insisted.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe will, therefore, be in a better position to comment and advise on the current sponsorship after the sponsorship tenure has ended and all due contractual obligations are finalised.\u201d<\/p>\n<p>She added that the company was committed to sponsoring netball evidenced by the financial support rendered to Malawi Under-21 Netball Team when travelling to Botswana for the recent Netball Africa Youth Championship.<\/p>\n<p>Kukoma Diamonds are the defending champions of the Airtel Money Netball Trophy after beating rivals Tigresses 40- 37 in May to pocket K8 million.<\/p>\n<p>Blue Eagles Sisters finished third after defeating rivals Civonets 49-47 in a third-place play-off.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Airtel Malawi says it is too early for the company to talk about the future of its three-year K360 million netball sponsorship which is into its final year.
