{"id":29766,"date":"2016-08-11T12:22:51","date_gmt":"2016-08-11T10:22:51","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=29766"},"modified":"2016-08-11T12:22:51","modified_gmt":"2016-08-11T10:22:51","slug":"malawian-artist-making-strides-in-uk","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/08\/11\/malawian-artist-making-strides-in-uk\/","title":{"rendered":"Malawian artist making strides in UK"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>A Malawian artist Nic Thindwa is making headway in the world of music in United Kingdom.<\/p>\n<p>Thindwa, who is doing hip hop, said he is doing well in music in UK and that this is because his music is in the local language.<\/p>\n<p>His music journey dates back to the time he joined Livingwaters Praise Team in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI learned a lot performing with the Livingwaters Praise Team and then thereafter I started writing my own songs. Actually, I was fortunate enough to be given the opportunity of performing my songs with the choir during festivals,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Thindwa said music is part of his life and he is using it to minister the word of God.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am happy that through my music, I have managed to change many souls and being a youth, I thought hip hop was the right channel so as to reach out to fellow youths,\u201d Thindwa said.<\/p>\n<p>The artist said in the UK, he is working with different artists and producers and that soon he will drop an album.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI am not in a rush to drop an album but there are songs I am working on. At the moment, I have dropped a song titled <em>Muli Mphamvu<\/em>,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Thindwa said through his music, he also wants to help promote Malawi in UK.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>A Malawian artist Nic Thindwa is making headway in the world of music in United Kingdom.
