{"id":2969,"date":"2015-05-25T07:57:35","date_gmt":"2015-05-25T07:57:35","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=2969"},"modified":"2015-05-25T07:57:35","modified_gmt":"2015-05-25T07:57:35","slug":"flames-ready-for-mambas","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2015\/05\/25\/flames-ready-for-mambas\/","title":{"rendered":"Flames ready for Mambas"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Flames coach Young Chimodzi says his charges are ready to face Mozambique\u2019s Mambas this evening in Cosafa Cup quarterfinal at Royal Bafokeng Stadium.<\/p>\n<p>The Flames had their last training session on Sunday afternoon where the coach concentrated on rectifying the shortfalls he noted when Malawi lost to South Africa 2-1 in a training match on Friday.<\/p>\n<p>Chimodzi said he was happy that his charges had responded well to training after the 2-1 loss and was optimistic that Malawi would carry the day.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAll is well here and I am impressed with the way the boys have responded in the past two days and I am sure with the fighting spirit in the camp, we will overcome Mozambique,\u201d Chimodzi said.<\/p>\n<p>The coach will likely use McDonald Harawa in goals while Limbikani Mzava will marshal the defence alongside John Lanjesi, Lucky Malata and Yamikani Fodya.<\/p>\n<p>Caps United star Gerald Phiri, who scored for Malawi in the Friday training match against South Africa , is likely to be given a role partnering John Banda, Chimango Kayira and Frank Banda in midfield.<\/p>\n<p>Upfront the coach has a number of choices.
