{"id":29516,"date":"2016-08-06T08:17:17","date_gmt":"2016-08-06T06:17:17","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=29516"},"modified":"2016-08-06T08:17:21","modified_gmt":"2016-08-06T06:17:21","slug":"big-bullets-valued-at-k5-billion","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/08\/06\/big-bullets-valued-at-k5-billion\/","title":{"rendered":"Big Bullets valued at K5 billion"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets is valued in excess of K5.2 billion, making it among the richest football clubs locally, a preliminary report from the team\u2019s former chairperson, Sam Chilunga, indicates.<\/p>\n<p>In his report presented at Bullets\u2019 Extra-ordinary General Meeting (EGM) last Sunday in Lilongwe, Chilunga said the team\u2019s 27 players were assets valued at K270, 000, Brand Image and Rights at K2,500,000,000 and Goodwill of the Team for the past 49 years at K2,500,000,000, totaling to K5,270,000,000.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cValuation of the club has never been taken by any party. This exercise is in process. The team\u2019s brand has been there for the last 49 years and the goodwill of the team has been built over the past 49 years,\u201d reads part of Chilunga\u2019s report.<\/p>\n<p>Noel Lipipa replaced Chilunga at the EGM.<\/p>\n<p>During the Lilongwe meeting, The Board of Trustees also turned down a proposal to change the club\u2019s ownership because it is registered under Trustees\u2019 Incorporation Act.<\/p>\n<p>There are calls from some sections of Bullets that sponsor, Nyasa Manufacturing Company (NMC), should take over ownership of the team.<\/p>\n<p>However, there is debate on the actual value of the team and who really owns it.<\/p>\n<p>Bullets do not have a secretariat, let alone stadium.<\/p>\n<p>Nonetheless, Bullets can be regarded as one of the richest teams in the country alongside Be Forward Wanderers and Silver Strikers.<\/p>\n<p>Silver General Secretary, Thabo Chakaka-Nyirenda said his team\u2019s valuation was estimated at K3 billion.<\/p>\n<p>Chakaka-Nyirenda said the Goodwill of the Team is estimated at K1.5 billion with the players and Brand Image and Rights at K200 million and K1 billion, respectively.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe stadium was valued at MK1.06 billion but the stadium belongs to the sponsor (Reserve Bank of Malawi). Other assets are estimated at K30 million. These are mere estimates, we have not engaged professional valuers to value the club,\u201d Chakaka-Nyirenda said.<\/p>\n<p>Wanderers General Secretary, Mike Butao, said the team\u2019s valuation has never been undertaken.<\/p>\n<p>Globally, Real Madrid are the most valuable club with 3.645 billion US dollars ($4.96billion) followed by Barcelona on 3.549 billion ($ 4.82 billion) and Manchester United on 3.317 ($4.51 billion) respectively.<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Nyasa Big Bullets is valued in excess of K5.2 billion, making it among the richest football clubs locally, a preliminary report from the team\u2019s former chairperson, Sam Chilunga, indicates.
