So far, only 191 supporters in different categories have registered. NBB share so far is K1.2 million. The money remains intact in the account,” reads the report in part about the membership drive which is run in partnership with Nico Life Insurance, FDH and Electronated Systems Limited.

The 191 are spread in membership categories of platinum, gold, silver, bronze and fuko with each pegged at K50,000, 20,000, K10,000, K5,000 and K2,500, respectively.

Bullets acting General Secretary, Kelvin Moyo, yesterday said differences between the Finance Committee and Supporters’ Committee might have caused the low registration.

“As a result, the fans in the zones stopped paying membership fees. The supporters wanted to be responsible for the registration, otherwise it is important for the fans to be paid-up,” Moyo explained.

“The constitution states that you have to be registered to be eligible for voting. They need to buy the membership card and be above 18. A person who fails to pay ceases to be a member.”

Bullets Supporters’ Committee Chairperson, Stone Mwamadi, on Tuesday confirmed that differences with the Finance Committee caused the apathy in the registration.

“We rolled out this initiative with an aim of reaching out to all our supporters in zones but the Finance Committee hijacked it. We are working out something. However, everything is now fine. We hope to register more than 2,000 fans after three months,” Mwamadi said.

They may have probably the biggest fan-base wildly estimated at two million across the country but plain truth is that Nyasa Big Bullets has only 191 registered supporters.
