{"id":29213,"date":"2016-08-02T11:29:21","date_gmt":"2016-08-02T09:29:21","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=29213"},"modified":"2016-08-02T11:29:22","modified_gmt":"2016-08-02T09:29:22","slug":"tnm-donates-k3m-to-operation-smile","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/08\/02\/tnm-donates-k3m-to-operation-smile\/","title":{"rendered":"TNM donates K3m to Operation Smile"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Mobile phone service provider TNM Limited has donated K3 million to Operation Smile Malawi, a local non-governmental organisation, that is operating on Malawians born with lip defects.<\/p>\n<p>The group is currently doing its work at Zomba Central Hospital.<\/p>\n<p>TNM Southern Region Distribution Manager, Allan Wittika, said the donation will go a long way in changing the lives of Malawians.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe are optimistic that the provision of surgery services by Operation Smile will change the lives of children who could hardly speak or smile and remove them from isolation.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cTNM remains firmly committed to contributing to Malawi\u2019s socio-economic development through direct assistance in the health sector. We continue to partnering with Operation Smile for their initiative of providing free treatment to Malawians,\u201d said Wittika.<\/p>\n<p>Operation Smile Malawi Country Director, Ibrahim Nthalika, said the donation by TNM was timely and will help bring back a smile on 100 faces.<\/p>\n<p>He said the organisation needs more support in order to reach out to many people.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThis year we identified over 200 patients, but we are only able to operate on 150 due to lack of funds.
