{"id":28683,"date":"2016-07-25T12:08:46","date_gmt":"2016-07-25T10:08:46","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=28683"},"modified":"2016-07-25T12:08:47","modified_gmt":"2016-07-25T10:08:47","slug":"china-donates-to-immigration-department","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/07\/25\/china-donates-to-immigration-department\/","title":{"rendered":"China donates to Immigration Department"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>The Chinese Embassy in Malawi has donated eight laptops and three printers to the Department of Immigration as one way of improving the department\u2019s efficiency in providing border security services.<\/p>\n<p>Chinese Ambassador to Malawi, Wang Shi-Ting, on Friday said the donation was made considering the financial constraint the department is facing to acquire proper equipment.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe border is very important for a country because it holds a key for every country\u2019s safety and security. We value the work of the department hence the donation. I believe the donation will improve service efficiency,\u201d he said.<\/p>\n<p>Shi-Ting promised to continue supporting the department in the future.<\/p>\n<p>Minister of Home Affairs, Jappie Mhango, said the donation will help in the implementation of the department\u2019s reforms.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cWe need to improve service delivery to our people and for that to be achieved there is need to ensure that departments that are under such reforms are equipped with modern technology.
