{"id":27837,"date":"2016-07-12T11:21:01","date_gmt":"2016-07-12T09:21:01","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=27837"},"modified":"2016-07-12T11:21:01","modified_gmt":"2016-07-12T09:21:01","slug":"irish-instructor-drills-basketball-refs","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/07\/12\/irish-instructor-drills-basketball-refs\/","title":{"rendered":"Irish instructor drills basketball refs"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>An accredited Federation of International Basketbal l (Fiba) Ireland-based basketball trainer, Marrie Horgan, is drilling 25 Central Zone Basketball League (Cezobal) referees with the aim of raising the standard of the sport.<\/p>\n<p>The week-long training ended yesterday in Lilongwe.<\/p>\n<p>The participants were drawn from all Cezobal affiliated teams.<\/p>\n<p>In an interview over the weekend, Horgan hailed the local referees for being punctual, dedicated and disciplined, saying that he expects officiating standards to improve after the training.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cI have been drilling them on the basics of the game and on how they can improve basketball. I am really pleased because the participants have been enthusiastic to learn new things about basketball.
