{"id":27582,"date":"2016-07-07T12:07:07","date_gmt":"2016-07-07T10:07:07","guid":{"rendered":"http:\/\/www.times.mw\/?p=27582"},"modified":"2016-07-07T12:07:07","modified_gmt":"2016-07-07T10:07:07","slug":"ethiopian-airlines-receives-africas-first-airbus-a350","status":"publish","type":"post","link":"https:\/\/archive.times.mw\/index.php\/2016\/07\/07\/ethiopian-airlines-receives-africas-first-airbus-a350\/","title":{"rendered":"Ethiopian Airlines receives Africa\u2019s first Airbus A350"},"content":{"rendered":"<p>Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350 plane in the French aeronautics city of Toulouse, becoming the first African carrier to own the new-generation wide-body aircraft.<\/p>\n<p>The plane will first be deployed on the Addis Ababa and Lagos, and Addis Ababa and Dubai routes.<\/p>\n<p>Ethiopian Airlines\u2019 ordered 14 A350XWB planes and says it will receive \u201cthe remaining 13 soon.<\/p>\n<p>The airline said it was proud to be the first one to fly the ultra-modern airplane in the African skies.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cThe fact that we are ushering in another first to Africa in a span of four years is an affirmation of our continuing pioneering role in African aviation,\u201d said Tewolde Gebremariam, group CEO of Ethiopian Airlines.<\/p>\n<p>All the new aircraft are configured with 30 Cloud Nine business class seats, and 318 economy seats.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cIt is also a testimony of our commitment to give our passengers the very best travel experience, with the latest industry products and services,\u201d Tewolde added.<\/p>\n<p>Ethiopian Airlines will be the second airline in the Star Alliance network, after Singapore Airlines, to take delivery of the new-generation airbus.<\/p>\n<p>The state-owned carrier is ranked the largest in Africa by revenue and profit by the International Air Transport Association, the global industry body<\/p>\n","protected":false},"excerpt":{"rendered":"<p>Ethiopian Airlines has taken delivery of its first Airbus A350 plane in the French aeronautics city of Toulouse, becoming the first African carrier to own the new-generation wide-body aircraft.
